Hyaluronic acid is a compound that is very present in the body’s connective tissue and bone cartilage. Glucosamine is a naturally occurring carbohydrate that plays an important role in the maintenance of cartilage in the joints. Chondroitin is also naturally produced by the body and is found in cartilage, bones and skin. MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is present in very small quantities in foods such as fruit, seafood and meat. The presence of iron in this compound is thought to play a role in maintaining good connective tissue. Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal muscle function and the maintenance of normal bone structure. Vitamin D also contributes to the normal absorption and utilization of calcium and phosphorus.
